What Makes Artisan Glass Different?
Unlike standard patterned glass, our artisan glass is individually kiln-formed using custom-developed moulds created in-house by the Royston Glass | The Framed Door Co. team.
Sheets of glass are carefully laid over specialist moulds before being heated within our kilns through a highly controlled process known as slumping.
As the temperature gradually increases, the glass softens and slowly takes on the texture and form of the mould beneath it. Timing, temperature and cooling are all carefully managed to ensure consistency, clarity and quality throughout the process.
The result is a beautifully tactile architectural glass with a depth and character that cannot be replicated by mass-produced alternatives.
